Overview

Pekka builds small, focused browser extensions. Our core design principle is that your data stays on your device. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.

What our extensions do NOT collect

All Pekka browser extensions process data locally inside your browser. They do not send your browsing activity, article content, downloaded files, pet interactions, or any personally identifiable information to our servers or any third-party server. This is an architectural choice, not a policy promise — the code simply does not make those network requests.

• No reading history or page content is transmitted
• No account creation or login is required for free features
• No behavioural profiling or advertising identifiers are collected

Chrome storage

Extensions use the browser's built-in chrome.storage.local API to save your preferences (e.g., theme, language, game progress). This data is stored exclusively in your browser and is never sent to Pekka servers. Uninstalling an extension removes all associated storage.

Paid subscriptions

If you purchase a Pro plan, payment is processed by our payment processor (Stripe). Pekka receives only a confirmation of the transaction and your email address, which is used solely to activate your license and send receipts. We do not store full card numbers or billing addresses.

Your email may be stored in our license database to validate your subscription status on request. You may request deletion at any time by contacting us.

Website analytics

The Pekka website (pekka.so) uses PostHog to collect anonymised analytics — page views, click events, and session duration. We use this to understand which pages are useful and to improve the site. PostHog is configured with privacy defaults: no cross-site tracking, no fingerprinting, and IPs are not persisted.

The extensions themselves do not include PostHog or any analytics library.

Third-party services

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with advertisers or data brokers. The only third parties that may receive any data are:

• Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions
• PostHog — anonymised website analytics

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing their use of data.

Children

Our services are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently received information from a child, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of our extensions or website after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
